Michael Jackson begann mit sieben Jahren als Leadsänger der Jackson Five seine Sangeskarriere, noch zu Bandzeiten veröffentlichte er erstes Solomaterial. Den Titel "King of Pop" verdiente sich Jacko 1982 durch sein Erfolgsalbum "Thriller", das bis heute meistverkaufte Album der Popgeschichte (knapp 60 Millionen). Seine Markenzeichen: der weiße Glitzerhandschuh und der Moonwalk. Das im August 1987 erschienene Album "Bad" wurde sofort zum Bestseller und führte in 25 Ländern die Charts an. Danach trennte er sich von seinem Produzenten Quincy Jones und veröffentlichte 1991 “Dangerous” mit dem Welthit "Black or White". Im Mai 1994 heiratete Michael Jackson die Tochter von Elvis Presley, Lisa Marie. Nachdem die Ehe mit Lisa Marie bereits zwei Jahre später geschieden wurde, heiratete Jackson die Krankenschwester Debbie Rowe, bevor er sich für vier Jahre aus der Öffentlichkeit zurückzog. Im August 2001 feierte der 43-jährige Michael Jackson mit der Single "You Rock My World" sein musikalisches Comeback. Nachdem Jackson bereits im Jahre 1993 erstmals in den Verdacht geraten war, einen minderjährigen Jungen missbraucht zu haben, wurde er 2003 erneut der sexuellen Belästigung eines Kindes bezichtigt. Im Juni 2005 wurde Michael Jackson in allen Anklagepunkten freigesprochen. Michael Jackson ist zwei mal geschieden und hat drei Kinder. Prince Michael Jackson Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson (beide aus der Ehe mit Debbie Rowe) und "Prince Michael II".
